The Joker is a crazed clown who wants the last laugh.
Origins[]
Jack Napier was a chemical worker at Ace Chemicals. He quit his job to pursue his dream of being a stand-up comedian, only to fail miserably. Desperate to support his pregnant wife Jeannie, the man agrees to help two thugs break into the plant where he was formerly employed. During the planning, police contact him and inform that his wife and unborn child have died in a housdhold accident. Stricken with grief, he attempts to back out of the plan, but the thugs convince him into keeping his promise. The thugs make Jack wear a red dome and cape. As soon as they enter Ace Chemicals, however, they are confronted by security guards and a fatal shoot-out ensues in which the two thugs were killed. As he tries to escape, he is confronted by Batman. Jack dodged Batman's attack, but fell over a railing and fell into a vat of chemicals which turned his skin white, his lips red, his hair green, and turned his clothes purple. Jack went through a pipe and got out of Ace Chemicals. Then, he found out about what the chemicals did to him and he started losing his sanity. This resulted in the birth of The Joker and he became the first arch-nemesis of Batman.
